In the UK about 700,000 panty liners, 2.5 million tampons and 1.4 million pads are flushed down the toilet every day - many of which block our sewer systems and escape into our rivers and seas. Flushed plastics make up around 8% of beach litter in the UK, and that figure just keeps on climbing. Research indicates that if big changes aren’t made in the near future the weight of plastic in the sea will outweigh that of fish by the year 2050.
We want to change the narrative around reusable period products and periods in general, and see women switching from plastic disposable products to reusable ones that are better for the ocean, for our wallets & for our bodies.
