A few months ago we were enjoying the Summer around our pool at McCann Manchester and discussing the grounds of Bonis Hall with fellow staff members.

We soon discovered that the old gatekeeper's house at the front of the drive was empty. It was then that lightbulbs started flashing above our heads. Just a few days prior to this discovery, McCann Manchester had been given a prize fund by McCann Worldgroup for winning McCann agency of the year, so what could we possibly do with the money?

Yes...you guessed it. Make a pub for us all. It was the obvious choice.

One thing about McCann Mcr being based in the country setting of Prestbury is that we can't just nip round the corner to the pub for a quick drink after work. So we thought...let's bring the pub to us! We think that social is very important to a good working environment and felt that this would be a great way to impact on this positively.

After pitching our idea, we were given permission the very next day to make it happen and it was no easy task but the facilities team and the gardeners did an amazing job in collaboration with us. 3 months later and we have a fully functional pub complete with Games Room, pool table, open wood burner and Chill Room. Why 'Chill' room? Well that's where we like to chill and play on the PlayStation. Oh..and it's where the ghost lives. Our pub is also haunted. Hence it's name 'The Haunt'.

Since opening on Friday the 13th September, we have used the pub for meetings, briefings, Fifa and pool tournaments and parties. Not bad for a place of work!

Very grateful to McCann for allowing us to make this happen as it is definitely one of our proudest achievements. One that we hope people can enjoy for years to come.

One thing we think is important at OMB is that you should never pick and choose what briefs you work on as it is upto you to make a product/service interesting.

And this is what you did for the fantastic product that is an extension lead.

Friday's Fun brief was Lube which resulted in a lot of entries coming in.

Lots of humour but also some clever/subtle ads too which we love.

Well done to all involved. Also, a quick note about entries that don't win. We value these ads just as much as the winners. It's very important to not be too precious with your ideas. Whether it's bad or good...it's only taken a minute. We feel ALL ideas should be shared as what you think is rubbish someone else could see something in and make it great.

A nice positive brief today with a very positive response. Great number of entries. Lots of comedy in there for a not so serious brief.

The winners all reflect this humour with:

@drdraper 'people kill to get in here' a quite familiar line but it works really well here.

I'm a huge fan of my onesie. Those who hate on them are seriously missing out. Don't knock it til you've tried it.

A slow start that gained pace towards the end with lots of nice entries. A lot of them had a comedy feel to reflect the fun nature of the product which we liked.

The overall winner is below:

We also liked the celebrity endorsements on show today.

This morning over a coffee we started thinking about our next haircuts. We want matching mohicans. However, we were at work and need them to come to us. This is why we chose this brief and the entries were of a high standard.

After playing against the Lad Bible with my McCann Manchester football team last week and beating them 7-1. We thought it would be great to use them as the OMB of the day.

Their website is brilliant if you're into that sort of thing and the mix of lad and bible was interesting to see in the entries.

We feel the 2 that got that across best are the creative team @bshryane and @robertgorton

Two LADS who did 200 One Minute Briefs before a book crit with us. The practice is obviously coming off.

Had quite a few fun briefs lately so we thought it would be good to go for something more serious. The results did not disappoint. Some excellent entries. 

However, one really stood out to us and almost got every single person's vote.

Very interesting visual and line that I'd like to see worked into a real ad.

Wow. Looks like we've got lots of support from the OMBLES for libraries! 110 entries and there wasn't even a prize on offer!

But due to the immense level of entries we think that the winners deserve a prize each. So we are offering signed photographs of our armpits to all winners! Woop Woop!
