PRIZE: Pack of 12 twin tip Sharpies and couple A3 Layout Pads

"To those of you that know me it’ll come as no surprise that I’m at it again and this year I have decided to go the extra mile (well extra 26.2 miles) in running the London Marathon. I shall be raising funds for Young Epilepsy, there’s a full story on our Just Giving page explaining why I’ve chose this charity again. I’ve a target of £3K to smash, so If  I could ask you all to dig deep and make a donation on our page that would be great. One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise @GreenwichMean

We got in contact with the creator of the @GreenwichMean twitter feed as it is a simple creative idea that turns Greenwich Mean Time into Greenwich MEAN Time. It is something that made us laugh and we thought it would make a great Friday brief before we hit top gear as we ease into 2014. Monday's brief is an important one. We want you all involved.

Some hilarious responses and we feel the winners below get the idea perfectly.

@CormMc with a creative version of clock hands. Fantastic visual. I'll pass this on to see if they'd like to use it for their profile picture.

@Cleedophile with 'prick, cock, prick, cock' Excellent copywriting!

@mrowainthomas with 'Wind Up Clock' Very fitting line. Quality.

@alvo_muses with 'Giving you a hard time' Again a very funny line but also very true.

@sarahlong_xx with 'time isn't always on your side' Great line and thought. Superb.

@sheisapenguin with 'time is a great wounder' and 'strikes back' Nice words again. Lots of copy based ideas for this brief.

@BOC_ATM with 'CLOCK' Very simple.

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise 2014

Bit of a fun brief to ease us all back into OMB action as people trickle back into work after their festive celebrations. Although a whole year is a strange thing to advertise, the ideas that came out of it were brilliant. 2 we liked related to OMB and one related to an event this year. Here are thw winners:

@justjoel_ with the brilliantly simple idea of 23:59 and OMB. Love this.

@paulallgood with a line as simple as 'The Year of the OMBLE' A powerful line that we will be doing our best to make happen.

@philhawkins87 with a brilliant image and a belief in the year. Everyone relates to 1966 and people know exactly what you mean. Could 2014 be the same in years to come?

One Minute Brief:
Create a poster to promote Adams Angels

Hello everyone. We realise it's New Year but today we are setting a brief to promote a great cause which you can read more about below. There has been some bad news recently regarding Adam Pickup's death in Manchester. Adam was from Stockport which is where myself and James are from too and we want to do our bit to promote the project created by Wez Hall called Adam's Angels. What better way than to use our great social creative community to raise awareness, show support and create content and ideas for Adam's Angels to use. We will provide prizes for the best entries. Please all get involved. See below for info from Wesley Hall.

Please Like on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/adamsangelsUK
and follow on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/adamsangelsUK

ADAMS ANGELS - THE AGENDA

My name is Wesley Hall, after seeing a comment on the Manchester Evening News Facebook page, underneath todays article on Adam from 'Donna Knox' about a ‘street angel’ proposal, I have decided as a parent that ‘enough is enough’, no-one should be dying on our streets at night, whether they are drunk, homeless, foreign, gay or hooked on drugs… Something needs to be done.

Our children and others should be SAFE in our towns and cities… This is GREAT Britain after all.

I’m not ‘into politics’, I’m certainly no ‘angel’ and I don’t dismiss the projects that are ‘out there’ at the moment… But I want #adamsangels to be able to offer protection, security and safety to the people in our Country.

Yes, sadly, the tragic incident yesterday, with young Adam has touched so many of our hearts… So much that I setup the 'Find Adam Pickup' page in order to aid the search for him… Rapidly, I saw that social media was doing GOOD! We all know that it’s slated so much in the press, but there ARE good people out there and this campaign has clearly showed that.

As I’ve said in my previous status, I don’t have ‘confirmation’ that the family would mind this initiative being setup in his memory, but we’ll confirm as soon as we know. I understand that a LOT of people have gone missing, been found under worst case scenarios, refused shelter, unconscious and I want to use my abilities to HELP. There’s hundreds of you that want to help and we’re overwhelmed with the response… You will all be contacted shortly as soon as we have confirmation of a venue for a conference.

Here’s what I think we need… But obviously, we’re open to suggestions… And we’re hoping that this will develop into a nationwide charity.

Manchester
========

We’d be looking at having a ‘HQ’, somewhere to facilitate the needs of volunteers, an office for ‘mission control’, hopefully growing into an ‘emergency’ shelter attending needs of those on the streets. Providing food, telephone facilities, individual needs, housing advice, personal development and medical services.
(There’s plenty of empty buildings that major companies & the council could offer us on low or free rent! - With funding or manual help from tradesmen, we could easily renovate somewhere suitable)

Teams of volunteers working from HQ and ‘roaming’ the streets into the early hours, working on a shift regime. Provided with supplies for people, radio communications, emergency services direct contact, GPS tracking, our own CCTV network, a ‘mobile bus’ with medical supplies & food, these would also offer ‘mobile phone charging points’, ‘a call home’ and helpful information and help regarding each individual person. Our aim is to make sure that NOTHING like this happens again in Manchester.
(We’ve literally had hundreds of volunteers asking to help, I genuinely believe this will work!)

Mobile Phone Charging Points located around the city.
(Possibly funded by Apple for having rubbish iPhone battery life? LOL!)

Liaison with GMP (PSCO officers finish at 2am and most PC’s are out dealing with crime) and CCTV control to ensure that people aren’t ‘wandering off’ whilst intoxicated.

Liaison with the other street groups and homeless charities that are operating in the city (Street Pastors, Coffee4Craig etc) to ensure that we have a concrete network that work together to make the city safe.

Increased safety & security along the water ways.
(Lifebuoys, lighting & CCTV)

A mandatory compliance for security companies, bars & clubs to work alongside #adamsangels to ensure safety for EVERYONE in Manchester.
(After all, these places our taking the money off the young crowd and intoxicating them, I believe that they have a responsibility as licensees to ensure their customers safety.)

We need YOU to help us promote this, by using twitter, Facebook, linked in, google+ and your own blogs… Ask EVERY influential person you know to ‘back this’ campaign.

I *PROMISE* that I will do EVERYTHING I can physically do to make this work, with the team I have alongside me and you lot on here showing your support, I know we’ll do this!

2014 is going to be an interesting year… #adamsangels NEEDS YOU!!!

I'm hoping to setup a conference for next week in the city centre so we can all collate and 'brain storm'... I hope you can all be there!

Thankyou for all of your nice messages & support, this wouldn't be possible without you.

- Wez Hall

Top quality ideas and lots of them in response to a topical brief. Lots of worthy winners too which were shared around a lot on the day over Twitter.

One of our favourite ever briefs. However, on this occasion we have one winner. Absolutely brilliant idea. Clever and masked as an advert for something else. Possible Chip Shop entry?

Well done to @billodavies with 'DJ for hire'

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise Sponges

Possibly one of the simplest products ever but something that we have all used before has resulted in lots of fantastic entries. Some great ones using droughts but we saw a few of them so they didn't win on this occasion.

Below are some fantastic winners:

@joe_from_cp with 'spongey jump' Think this could be a big idea using stunts events and ambient advertising. Would love to see it as a campaign.

@alvo_muses with 'this sucks' You don't see many adverts admitting that but it says exactly what id does. Simple but gets your attention.

@owenjevans with 'we love spongers' Bit of a risky one but it made us laugh and works nicely.

@dognbonesjones with the nice waterfall visual. Think this could work as a set in front of other things too perhaps.

@skynewsman with the very simple 'sponges' all of the other info has been absorbed from the page. Very clever.

@mrowainthomas with the nice visual of the sponge and football pitch. Could be a big sponsorship idea with some great copy opportunities.

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise Liposuction

Great brief to run just before the New Year when everyone feels they need to lose weight etc and the vast number of entries produced lots of funny, clever and eye-catching ideas.

Well done to everyone who was involved. Lots of winners today.

@katesteeth with the Like visual. Simple but eye-catching. Quality stuff.

@aga_nat with 'Suck it in - out' Simple but effective.

@worldofolly with 'we completely agree'  Love the honesty of this campaign. It admits liposuction isn't the best option but it is the most convenient. Great idea.

@matthew__wyatt with a great ambient style idea using double and single doors. Apparently done before but rather than that detracting from it being a great idea. We think it reinforces that it is brilliant. The other winning entry was 'Slim Faster' So simple. So effective. Would love to see this art directed using a can of Slim Fast.

@see_low with 'get out what you put in' Great funny line.

@JustJoel_ with '25% off' Very clever. Again. Very simple.

An impressive response to a rather festive brief. Good number and some really nice winners that are all a bit of fun in the spirit of the product.

Hope you all had a great Christmas and used mistletoe to it's full potential!

The winners are:

@maxgordon94 with "if in doubt, get it out" A silly but fun line which is what it's all about.

@matthew__wyatt and @sharpstuffbits. Nice idea of the Christmas tree visual. With some art direction this could be a great piece.

@hellonaomi_ with this "Warning" ad Brilliant.

@lpbiesty with a special Lynx idea. Want to see this happen next Christmas! Great work.

@boc_atm It's not often you want the message of an ad to go over someone's head but it's a nice opportunity to say it on this occasion!

Happy Boxing Day everyone. Hope you all had a great Christmas and have an enjoyable New Year.

As some of you will know, we run the Bank of Creativity which is our overall brand and we run a series of projects under it. These include One Minute Briefs, Agency Quotes, Creative Account and Bumting. A lot of this is run on Twitter and in the last year we have gained a fantastic following on all of our accounts. We enjoy engaging in conversation with people who share our interests and Twitter gives us a great platform to do so.

@AgencyQuotes has been amazing this year with a huge level of interaction across the creative industries. We hope for more people next year as we plan to create some books from the brilliant content that gets created.

@OneMinuteBriefs has become a very strong, creative community full of talented people that share advice, ideas and above all a great laugh. We have been invited to talk at lots of events, worked with some great people and been fortunate enough to meet some of the OMBLES in person. Being able to help people to get live work out there, develop their portfolio and provide a platform to share thoughts is important to us and we will continue to make this even bigger and better for our followers in 2014.

As we head into New Year...we thought it would be a good idea to share our resolutions with you for 2014. So here they are:

*Create an OMB book.
*Create an Agency Quotes book.
*Develop an OMB integrated website & app.
*Provide more and better prizes for our followers.
*Bring out the Bumting.
*Host an OMB event.
*Work more with education and talent.
*Win more awards.
*Blog more.
*Share even more fun.

Our highlights of 2013 have been:

*Creating a pub for everyone at work at McCann Manchester. It's not often you get a chance to do that!

*The post-its Christmas Decorations. Bit of risk but it paid off and looks great.

*Seeing Gareth Alvarez and Rob Gorton's great OMB work featured in Campaign Magazine.

*Working with the NABS and Liam Foundation charities on some great, rewarding projects.

*Participating at the Promax UK, D&AD, TAONB, Fresh and Twestival events.

*Meeting and working on our OMB stand with legendary director Tony Kaye.

*Shortlisted in Cannes Lions

*Silver in the Roses Awards

*Commended in the 'Next Big Thing' category at MPA Awards.

*Fresh Award for Innovation.

*Founding Bumting

*Above all, making lots of great friends across the world!

Hopefully we haven't missed anything out there. We'd like to say thank you to every single person who has been involved in anything we have done this year. It really is appreciated and we want it to be an even better experience for all of you in 2014.

See you there.

Tremendous response to an interesting brief subject. Was a very difficult decision to choose a winner but the eventual winner stood out due to it's sheer simplicity.

The winner is @Matthew__Wyatt with 'Kills Smoking' This has got so much campaignable potential. Fantastic idea and visual. The vouchers go to you to use for yourself or as a gift so send us your contact details to interest@bankofcreativity.co.uk and we'll sort it out for you.

The 2 runners-up who were very unfortunate to not take top spot are @misterDJC with 'No Whiffs or Butts' and @stephenhunter21 with 'Why cough up anymore'. Both clever copy ideas and again really really simple but effective. Excellent standard.

Well done to everyone involved, there were a lot more that were top quality.

After another fantastic collaboration with the Fresh Awards, they have decided on the first and second place in their competition.

The prize being a free entry into the Fresh Awards 2014 for the overall winner.

However, Fresh have chosen us (@boc_atm) as the winner with James' nice stamp visual idea, so we would like to give our prize to the runner-up @PWCFreelance and it is well deserved with his great use of the logo as paint for decorating the new place!

I'm sure we will have many more collaborations with Fresh in the future so there will be plenty more opportunities to come.

Thanks to every single person who got involved. It was a very tough decision.

One Minute Brief REPS:

December 19, 2013

One Minute Brief REPS:

In the next few weeks, you may start noticing 2 of our OMBLES a little bit more than usual.

The 2 girls, Sophie and Mellissa, have decided to do their Final Major Project at University to advertise/promote One Minute Briefs.

A key part of their work is research so if they ask you any questions etc please give your best responses and be kind :p.

They have been working hard and produced leaflets to give out and have focussed their efforts on education and how OMB can help in that sense. They came to see us with their plans and we were very impressed with what they had to say. We feel that they are representing OMB brilliantly and get exactly what we are about. It is a pleasure to collaborate with them on such a unique project.

If anyone has any suggestions to help them or you want to share your advice/OMB experiences with them then please get in touch.

Last week Sophie and Mellissa headed up to Woodhouse College to give a presentation on One Minute Briefs and the advertising industry. Yesterday, they went back to challenge them with a One Minute Briefs workshop. The students had never taken part in One Minute Briefs before, but caught on quickly.  Students went against each other advertising sponges, twitter, toilet paper, vegan cookies and quite a few more. Some tweeted their entries in and are now new followers of One Minute Briefs on Twitter. It was an interesting visit and hopefully the start of many more to come.

See the pics below. Looks like they had fun and hopefully sharpened their thinking too!

Huge credit to the girls for their hard work in making it happen.

One Minute Brief:
Advertise JC Vape

I'm sure you've all seen the naughty adverts for VIP Vape on TV lately. They are getting a lot of attention. However, our friends at JC Vape are better!!! With loads of great quality products available and friendly, knowledgable staff.

They are offering £20 vouchers to spend on products to the winner. So whether you smoke or you don't they could be ideal for gifts etc.

Below is some info about JC Vape. You can see more on the website here: http://www.jcvape.co.uk

Make sure you follow them on Twitter and mention them in your entries on @jc_vape

Vaping?

This alternative to smoking is proving to be a revolution with its health, social and financial benefits.

As an example a 20 a day smoker will spend in excess of £50 a week, will cough at least 15 times a day, have stained teeth, clothes, fingers and skin, vile smelling breath and socially you have been forced to be ‘abnormal’ by the government making you smoke outside.

As an employer you have many hours of down time as your smokers head outside to take a break. Then there is the fire hazards including the obvious and who hasn’t lost a lighter and singed their hair and eye brows on the gas hob?

Vape liquid contains 4 pharmacy grade chemicals in comparison to cigarettes which contains over 4,000. 69 of which are known to cause cancers.

Vaping has no cancer causing chemicals but like tobacco contains nicotine which is the addictive ‘drug’. Treating the nicotine addiction is only a very small part of the problem. Many products have been produced as smoking cessation but do not address the habit of holding something and blow out smoke. Vaping does this by giving you something in your hand, something that allows you to blow out smoke and a safe nicotine hit without the 1000’s of dangerous chemicals found in cigarettes.

Vaping does not create a hazard for non smokers.

So what is the science behind it?

The Vaping units and e cigarettes are known as ENDS (electronic nicotine delivery systems) they work by a battery which when engaged produce heat which through a wick soaked in liquid and sucked through the mouth piece produce water vapour, you inhale the vapour.

Recent news:

The Government have now put in place a process where all products by 2016 will need to be licensed as a medicine and a medical device through the MHRA (Medicines and health care regulatory agency).

This is a welcome decision because this regulation will ensure that unscrupulous manufacturers will no longer be able to flood the market with sub standard products and liquids.

We are working with a supplier who is now already in the process of licensing by 2016, and is already UK based.

Come and experience the alternative..
Our shop is staffed only by people who fully understand what they are selling and are all now VAPERS not SMOKERS.

We offer the full range of liquids to taste using disposable mouth pieces to prevent any form of cross infection to our customers.
