As some of you will already know, we recently received the fantastic news that we have made it to the final 100 small businesses in the UK. As part of being in The Pitch 100 we are automatically entered into The Pitch 2014 Digital Marketing Awards, presented by the event supporters Constant Contact. 

The Digital Marketing Award recognises the one Pitch entrant who uses digital marketing effectively to raise awareness of their Pitch idea. And what better way to do this than to raise awareness using One Minute Briefs itself!

With the news of people's GCSE results we just had to run this brief today and the quality and quality was superb. Some entries went against the brief and against GCSE's. Although some of them were great, the following winners really hit the brief.

After learning what Hump Day was this morning, it just had to be today's brief! We like setting briefs for things that would never get advertised as it produces such interesting and unique results.

@supercoolkp with 'all downhill from here' Not often you hear that as a positive!

@garrickmidd with a nice typographic idea. What's that coming over the hill?

@pennyjanex with 'Mount the week' Bit of a cheeky one but we liked it.

@gazzamatazzzz with a great visual with the light at the end of the tunnel. It looks like a pint of beer at the end. Was that intentional? Tweet us.

@doritosyndrome with a nice recruitment idea building up on the current 'Love Mondays' concept. Great thought.

After talking about passwords and Password1 being the most popular we thought it would make a great brief. Hopefully it has helped people to rethink their password policies and you all use strong passwords!

@gulzarrrr with 'what gets harder when it gets longer' Fantastic advert for Pornhub

@chrisod1993 with a brilliant FB logo/key hybrid.

@GarrickMidd with a nice campaign about password strength. Great visuals.

@phoeberees1 with 'geek proof' Another campaignable though and different to the rest.

@matthew__wyatt with a great simple line 'Safety in Numbers'

@little_scamp85 with a very neat idea using windows and security. They should do this. I'm going to ring Bill up tomorrow.

Fresh Awards Judging:

In the past week we have been in Warwick judging the Fresh Awards alongside some major figures in the creative industry. This was our first time on a creative jury and it was a brilliant experience to be involved and have our say on some fantastic entries.

The standard was high and there were lots of interesting debates and discussions about the work. We were pleased to have been invited onto the jury by the organiser Paula Kelsey and would welcome the opportunity in the future.

The Ideas Foundation brought Year 11 students from 3 Manchester schools in to see us at our agency McCann Manchester and we put on a workshop, talk, OMB tournament and talent shows. Other members of the team hosted talks and presentation workshops etc.

The day was very rewarding for ourselves, the students and also their tutors. Days like these are great for people to learn that they can all produce great ideas and have a great future in creative industries if that's what they want to have links with D&AD New Blood and other talent schemes and we'd like to build on these relationships as well as make new ones.

After seeing a few cheeky selfless happening at Fresh Awards Judging, we decided to run this brief the next day with Fresh and you didn't disappoint. It was great to see some of your selfies and interesting ads!

@dognbonesjones with a promotional idea for DIY stores. Nice thought.


@binxy with a very blunt ad that made us laugh. 'Shoot Yourself'


@doritosyndrome with 'check your selfie' Not sure about the images this concept would create but the idea of checking your selfie is brilliant to raise awareness as a call to action.

We were very impressed by the entries to this brief. It showed the tremendous support you all give to One Minute Briefs and being able to do briefs like this means we can make the community even stronger by using OMB in different ways. Facebook is a place where content can be shared very quickly so if work is shared on there too you have a big chance of getting it seen by a lot of people. Especially if it is topical.
