One Minute Brief of the Day: Campaign to get Nick a new creative partner
One Minute Brief of the Day:
Campaign to get Nick a new creative partner
Today's brief is a personal one to us as the creators of One Minute Briefs and Bank of Creativity.
Brief: Campaign to get Nick a new creative partner
The ads need to communicate some of the info below and that I am now available for freelance/permanent roles in the creative industry. Remember to include @BOC_ATM & @OneMinuteBriefs & any other relevant agencies/creatives Twitter names in your tweets.
As some people already know, myself (Nick) and James have recently left McCann Manchester. James has decided to go off travelling America etc so we are 'splitting up' as a team. Although it is on good terms and fully support what each other does in the future.
For this reason, I am currently looking for a new creative partner to team up with. I am the copywriter usually so I am mainly looking to partner up with an art director. However, I do also do art direction so I am open to working with other copywriters and creatives if this would work.
See previous work and projects at www.bankofcreativity.co.uk

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create an ad to raise awareness of type 2 diabetes
One Minute Brief of the Day: Create an ad to raise awareness of type 2 diabetes
Today’s brief is being run
in collaboration with Ryan Wallman (a.k.a. @dr_draper) – who is Head of Copy at
Wellmark, a healthcare communications agency – and Advertising Health, an online hub for the healthcare advertising
industry.
Brief
Campaign to raise awareness of Type 2 Diabetes & prompt people who may be at risk to ask their doctor for a diabetes test.
Entries
For regulatory reasons, please ensure that you do not include the names of any prescription-only products in your ads.
Please include @wellmark_health and @adhealthmag in your tweets.
Winners
The best entries from this brief will be featured on the Advertising Health website and the Wellmark blog.
The overall winner will also receive Dave Trott’s ‘Predatory Thinking’ book as a prize.
Background: about type 2 diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is the most
common form of diabetes. It impairs the way the body uses glucose (sugar),
which results in a build-up of sugar in the blood.
Type 2 diabetes is caused
by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Although there is a strong
genetic predisposition, the risk of type 2 diabetes is greatly increased by
lifestyle factors such as obesity, lack of physical activity, and poor diet.
Many people first diagnosed
with Type 2 diabetes are unaware that they are even at risk, and most of them
are only diagnosed ‘by accident’ (i.e. as part of routine tests or while they
are being treated for other conditions).
The problem with this is
that organ damage can occur before any symptoms are noticed, so delayed
diagnosis of type 2 diabetes puts people at risk of serious complications, such
as kidney disease, eye disease (including blindness), heart disease, stroke, and
disease of the peripheral blood vessels (which can lead to amputation). About
half of the people with type 2 diabetes have some evidence of complications at
the time of their diagnosis.
For these reasons, type 2
diabetes is sometimes called ‘the silent killer’.

OMBLIVE 1.5
Bit short notice but with the struggle to make OMBLIVE2 happen (we were quoted 8 grand to hire a room in London today!!) we have decided to do a meet-up tomorrow for any OMBLES who can make it for a catch-up and some drinks/OMBLIVE1.5. Myself and @worldofolly are going so far and would be great to meet up with a few more.
It's also the England vs Scotland match tomorrow night and I'm half Scottish so should be interesting!!
We will be meeting on Tuesday 18th November. I'll be there from 6pm onwards at:
Sports Bar & Grill Piccadilly Circus
36-40 Rupert Street, London, W1D 6DW
We are still looking for venues for OMBLIVE2 in London, Birmingham and Manchester and I'm trying to keep ticket prices down as much as possible so if you have any ideas for venues please let us know.
Let me know if you can make it by tweeting us @oneminutebriefs or email interest@bankofcreativity.co.uk
Be great to see a few of you there.
Cheers,
Nick

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise #FilmsWithOneLetterMissing
This brief really caught everyone's imagination and is probably the most difficult one we have had to judge due to the sheer amount and quality of entries. It was a bit of fun and some of the entries are hilarious. Below are a selection of winners taken from amount of faves, retweets, votes and our own choices. One entry was retweeted over 70 times. That means in one way or another that tweet has reached a HUGE amount of people. Make sure you use it to your advantage.
Our tips are to:
1. Include your twitter name on your image. This helps us to judge the winners and will get you recognition when ideas are shared.
2. Mention people and brands (within reason). Get the recognition you deserve.
3. Include info in your tweet to get people to click on the photo.
4. Don't mention @oneminutebriefs at the start of the tweet...include it somewhere in the middle or at the end. Otherwise it will only come to us.
Load of winners below:
@stephenhunter21 with 'Raveheart' An interesting twist.
@alflynn91 with 'ion King' One for the geeks!
