About:
Saturday the 27th of September was international rabbit day, we’re going loud with “A Hutch Isn’t Enough” — our boldest campaign yet to make rabbit welfare impossible to ignore.
Why? Rabbits are the UK’s most neglected pet. Too many live alone in tiny hutches with no space to hop, no companionship, and no stimulation. These conditions aren’t just boring — they’re harmful. Rabbits deserve more than a hutch. They deserve a life.
That’s where this campaign comes in. We’re calling on creative minds to help us turn rabbit welfare awareness into something loud, visual, and impossible to ignore. Your posters should show why a hutch alone is not enough, highlighting what rabbits really need to thrive:
Space to hop, run, and stretch (minimum 3m x 2m)
Companionship — rabbits are social animals and should live in pairs or compatible groups.
A diet rich in hay and grass, supported by fresh greens and safe enrichment.
Toys, tunnels, and platforms to keep them active and stimulated.
Just like dogs need walks and cats need scratching posts, rabbits need room, friends, and care. Good rabbit welfare should be the norm, not the exception.
We hope you’ll go all-out to create the most creative, bold, and eye-catching posters that make people rethink how they care for rabbits. We’re looking for messages that are powerful, playful, and shareable — messages that could genuinely save lives.
Mission, Vision, Values
Our Mission
Rabbit Rescue UK exists to give every rabbit a life worth living. Too many rabbits are kept in small hutches, isolated from companions, and denied space, enrichment, and proper care. We fight to make rabbit welfare impossible to ignore. We educate, raise awareness, and empower rabbit owners and the public to provide the care rabbits truly need.
Our Vision
A world where all rabbits are treated with respect and compassion, where every rabbit has companionship, room to hop, and a stimulating environment — and where neglect or poor care is no longer overlooked.
Our Values
Compassionate: We put the wellbeing of every rabbit first, advocating for care, companionship, and enrichment.
Curious: We seek out better ways to educate, rescue, and support rabbits and their owners.
Empowering: We give owners, volunteers, and communities the knowledge and tools to improve rabbit welfare.
Visible: We shine a light on rabbit neglect and rescue, making sure every story and every voice is seen.
Community-Driven: We collaborate with rescues, owners, and supporters to create a safer, happier world for rabbits.
