Special One Minute Brief category WINNER at the Chip Shop Awards:
Advertise the new Oscar Pistorius range from Nike

So, after a difficult judging process from 600 entries down to 5 nominations, we went down to London to see the results of the One Minute Briefs category on Thursday night.

It was a great night set in the Ministry of Sound Club with a brilliant opening speech by Gordon Young which really reflected what we like to do at One Minute Briefs as we are all about great ideas and not being restricted. Then, of course, was the fantastic act from Abandoman before moving onto the results. There was some great work throughout and some lighthearted, funny yet effective work too. The Grand Prix piece was quite serious though and shows that the awards aren't just a joke.

At the end of the award section the One Minute Briefs #MicroChips category came up and the winner out of the 5 nominations was chosen by a clapometer which was a really good way of interacting with the audience. The overwhelming winner was the entry below produced by Dan Burns, a copywriter at BD Network, London.

It was great to see a true 'One Minute' entry win as this proves that the idea really is king.
The idea itself is a light-hearted quick response to a topical brief which isn't to be taken too seriously yet it is eyecatching and really stood out from the others by being different.

Due to it's quick nature it is a rough scamp but we think that this art direction makes it even better!

Also, the fact that BD Network had a wall full of One Minute Brief entries for this particular brief shows that by getting involved you can produce better ideas. Andy Thirsk, Dan's workmate at BD was also in the final 5.

It was great to catch up with Dan and the others. Top guys. We'll catch up for another drink soon! Well done to everyone who was nominated and to all 600 entries. The quality was amazing. Well done Dan too. The best out of 600. Not bad!

Yes, we got to hold it too! ;)

Special One Minute Brief category nominations in the Chip Shop Awards:
Advertise the new Oscar Pistorius range from Nike

A few months ago we set a special One Minute Brief in collaboration with Chip Shop awards as part of their 10 year anniversary. With it's one minute nature, the category was called #microchips and had over 600 entries over Twitter.

There were some fantastic entries overall which we had to cut down to 10 to go to a public vote in The Drum. As you can imagine, that was a difficult job in itself!

You all voted and below are the final 5 nominations who were up for the award at the Chip Shop Awards we attended at Ministry of Sound in London on Thursday.

Which one is your fave? Tweet us your thoughts @oneminutebriefs

Winner to be posted soon.

One Minute Brief WINNER:
Advertise Sports Cars

Lots of mid-life crisis and penis extension gags today. Think I'd better cancel my order on the new Porsche!

Some brilliant lines and ads that have made me want to buy the cars and some funny ones too like the wife on all 4's! Not sure if they would run that but who cares!

Today's winners in no particular order are:

Sarah Long @SarahLong_xx with 'Up to speed?' Great ad that lists spec, great image and great line. Can't argue with that!

The Scamp Factory @TheScampFactory with 'Extra come as standard' which is a fantastic line.

Phil Waddicor @PWCFreelance with 'Call 911' which just edged his 'real horsepower' effort. Phil is bagging quite a few OMB titles lately. Great idea and scamp.

Air Creative Marketing @AirCreativeMktg with 'Go for Broke' with a great double meaning. Actually being honest and telling you to be broke but who cares when you've got a Bugatti.

All brilliant ideas. Hope you agree! Tweet us your thoughts.

We were also at the Chip Shop Awards last night as guests for our One Minute Brief award category. Great to meet some of our fantastic followers. Blog post coming up soon!

One Minute Brief WINNER:
Advertise Biscuits

Lots of fun entries today. And lot's of biscuit jokes and banter over Twitter which we like just as much as the work!

3 winners today.

Dan Greenwood @DanGreenwood with 'Nice One'. We had a few ads using 'Nice' biscuits but felt that this was something you would say if someone gave you a biscuit plus at only 30p it had a benefit too.

Scott Randall @mr_scottrandall with 'Cookie Monsters' clever and funny line.

Elizabeth Parkin with this idea for party ring which we think could make a great fun campaign.

We're at the Chip Shop Awards so make sure you say hi if you're there! See you tomorrow!

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise Shoes

Probably the highest standard of One Minute Briefs we've ever had! Plus, today we passed 10000 tweets so we want to say a special thank you to all of our followers for creating such a vibrant creative community with us. We really appreciate it!

Very tough to pick the winners and the votes have been varied so we have a number of winners today.

In no particular order the winners are:

Phil Waddicor @PWCFreelance with the 'tongue wagging' for Jimmy Choo AND... 'they'd love to be in your shoes. Totally different directions but both fantastic ideas. First time we've had someone win with two ads in a day I think!

Stephen Hunter @StephenHunter21 with 'Camp Boots' a fantastic double meaning for Timberland boots. Would win a Chip Shop Award!

The Scamp Factory @TheScampFactory with 'BigFoot' Hilarious ad and a great brand ambassador for a shoe brand for bigger sizes!

David Webb @wavey_gravy with 4.5 million years. A staggering claim but has a real human truth.

We also have a first win for Ryan Cordell, well deserved after his efforts each day! He wins too with 'Goody'.

Well done to everyone! See you tomorrow!

Fantastic response. All these ads have definitely made me want pie for tea! Bit too hot though I might just have a dust salad.

Overall great standard but we have to have winners and here they are...

Christina Zsori @ChristinaZsori with 'meet pie'. This could be a superb campaign idea.

Millie @Milliej8 with Sur'pies. Love the idea and copywriting.

Alex Goddard @atAlexGoddard with 'Real Honest Porky Pies' Clever and humorous.

Vector That Fox @VectorThatFox with this brilliant 'pie chart' ad.

Tweet us your thoughts on the winners. Then go and have a glass of Pimms and a pie in the sun! See you tomorrow.

Massive amount of entries today. Thanks to every single one of you!! Great standard too but the two that really knocked us out were produced by Ryan Wallman @Dr Draper with 'blank canvas' and Owen Evans @owenjevans with 'ability and discipline'.

Two amazing ads that are totally different in direction. Well done to both of these past winners.

You both win front row tickets to mine and James' boxing fight. Who will win? Tweet us your bets!

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise Recycling

Lots of entries on an exciting collaborative brief today. All entries to be featured in #TwitterAnnual with D&AD Talent.

With so many entries today and lots of votes for different ads we have ended up with a number of winners. Out of our Winners, D&AD might choose one outright winner to feature in the Twitter Annual. So let us both know your overall choices.

In no particular order the winners are:

Alex Goddard @atAlexGoddard with the fantastic line 'It's rubbish when people don't re-cycle' amazing art direction too.

Special Ed @Special__Ed with the brilliant concept of Feel Young Again. Never heard anyone talk about recycling in this way before!

Jamie Axford @jimbobaggins75 with 'bin there...done that' Simple yet effective and fun.

Stephen Hunter @stephenhunter21 with advertising that eats itself in this parody of a classic VW ad.

Phil Waddicor @PWCFreelance with 'reinvent the wheel' which is a very clever way of thinking about it. Big truth in it too.

Tweet Crits @tweetcrits sneaked a winner with their first ever entry. Very funny idea that is campaignable.

James Clancy @BOC_ATM with 'Please don't use the bins provided'. Making people think different and giveing you a WTF moment.

Shireen Dew @ShireenDew with 'Born Again' made up of items found on the train. A fantastically art directed piece that has a real charm.

Also, although it obviously took more than a minute to create, we really like Max Gordon's entry @MaxGordon94 who recycled lots of today's entries to create his own entry. Original thinking.

Overall a fantastic day for One Minute Briefs. You should all be proud of your entries the standard was immense. Can't wait to see all of the entries in D&AD Talent's #TwitterAnnual.

Have great weekends and get recycling! See you Monday.

One Minute Brief WINNER:
Advertise Dictionaries

Absolutely brilliant entries today. Bringing out the copywriters in everyone. Very difficult to choose a winner and the votes were mixed because the standard was so high.

However, we have to have winners and today we have 4!

Mellissa Potts @MellissaPotts with 'The book that defines you' which is a really personal message but a truth that you can relate to. Nice art direction too.

Dave Ellis @novolume with 'Discover the Meaning of Life' which is an epic statement but again is a strong truth.

Gareth Alvarez @alvo_muses with 'Meaningful' which speaks for itself.

And we also got a cheeky win ourselves with 'Ad Diction' @BOC_ATM which we hope copywriters will relate to!

Overall a great day for One Minute Briefs. I'm off to read the dictionary front to back to discover the meaning of my life.

Make sure you check out our brief tomorrow. It will be in association with D&AD. Entries and winners to be featured in an online magazine. See you in the morning! This could be a great opportunity for you to advertise yourself too. Spread the word!
