One Minute Brief WINNERS: On Demand TV

Creative Account
October 8, 2013
Hello Ombles.

Just before we go through the winners of yesterday's brief - please can we ask you to include your Twitter @ names on your OMBs. Some of you already do it but it not only makes it easier for us to sort through and find the people behind the ads, but it will also benefit you guys when Sir John Hegarty notes down your name and offers you a company car. Thanks, Cheers, Nice One, Sound, Safe... etc

Anyway, ON DEMAND TV.

Some great entries, some pretty bad entries (you know who you are) but ultimately we have 3 winners.

First up is @lpbiesty with 'This Morning, tonight'.
You clever wotsit, who'd have thought you could watch Richard & Judy in the evening 10 years ago?

Next we have @joe_from_cp with 'OD'. Soon we will see people literally going to TV rehab. Great work.

And finally, a cracking line from @sharpstuffbits with 'thing of the past'. It was that good that the guys from Now TV/SKY picked up on it and gave him a bloody projector! You lucky git. Well done chap!

Here's what they had to say:

One Minute Brief:
Advertise Rollabear (by Matmi)

Today's One Minute Brief is an exciting collaboration between us and Matmi with iTunes vouchers to be won for the winner so get involved and check them out. They are doing some great work with some brilliant brands and their latest project is Rollabear.

For the last three years Matmi has been raising it’s little bundle of joy, Rollabear. They’ve nurtured it, stuck with it through hard times, but most importantly they have watched it grow into the game it is today. And now, the time has come, to pry Rollabear from their loving grasp, and release it into the big wide world for everyone to enjoy!

Set across 3 magical wonderlands, players can roll, bounce, dodge, fall and fly in this addictive and thrilling new 3D action game. Intertwining the skill of ten-pin bowling with some crazy-golf inspired courses, Rollabear has 3 modes of play (Campaign, Ten Round, and Survivor), all packed with humour and great animation, including the odd bit of punky bear dancing! See: http://rollabear.com/

And here’s a quote from Jeff the MD if you want it “We love what we do, but yeah, we’ve gone a bit wild on this one!” says Matmi’s CEO Coghlan. “We’re very proud to work with some of the world’s most amazing, internationally high-profile clients, and we’re really excited about making a game that is 100% our own IP… We’re totally stressed too, but mainly excited. It’s taken us a while, but the UK game development scene is buzzing with creativity right now and we’re chuffed to be able to finally share our game, even if there are some people who might not get the Macclesfield references.”

You can now watch the full trailer below and perhaps get some screenshots for your ads...and you can also download the game on iOS devices. (Android, Windows and Kindle to follow)!

Game Description below:

And the game description: “Join Bubba Bear, Poppy, Angus, and friends as they fly, fall, dodge and roll through this totally original, action packed, 3D bowling adventure across three magical wonderlands.
Roll through The Rockies picking up fish and knocking down the hillbillies as you go. Embark on an adventure through mystical Asia, rolling down the great wall, shooting through bamboo forests and bouncing across giant lily ponds, or slip, roll and slide through an icy Arctic wonderland, encountering a host of characters and obstacles, pesky penguins, killer whales, and some pretty scary, pretty hairy mammoths.

Meet Lord Gillsworth, the dapper goldfish who is always ready to lend a helping hand to crazy Rollabears who veer off course. Scattered across the lands are golden boxes of his magical time-warping fish which allow you the chance to rewind time, correct your mistakes and get closer to the perfect strike.”

Hope you all enjoy the brief. Good luck!

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Campaign against idea theft.

@matthewgledhill for this cheeky ad created by stealing our tweets! We weren't expecting that and love the thinking. Different!

@KGcreativity with 'copycat' Been waiting a while for a winner using Grumpy Cat and this is a good one!

@sheisapenguin for 'Hands off Nick and James' lightbulbs!' We thought this was funny and loved the art direction.

@sharpstuffbits for this brilliant ad for Apple using the philosophy of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery.

@lpbiesty with 'those who can't' nice twist on the well known phrase.

@alvo_muses with 'iDEATHeft' Simple as that.

Excellent ideas everybody who got involved. Has restored our faith in the creative industry!

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise National Poetry Day

Another trending brief today that resulted in some excellent entries. Poetic almost.

Had a few along the lines of our first winner but none were as simple as this one by @alvo_muses 'Know It' Love this line.

Second winner is @BecciTyrrell with 'Have you heard about the 3rd?' Very cheeky line and reminds us of a great Family Guy scene!

Great stuff by everyone. See you tomorrow.

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise Scotland

With Scotland trending on Twitter this morning and myself (Nick) being half-Scottish we thought it would be interesting to see how the OMBLES would advertise it.

Wasn't impressed with the negative entries ;) haha

Some great ideas as ever. We feel that these were the most interesting entries as did everyone who voted.

@dr_draper with 'There's more to Scotland than you can imagine'. Brilliant line with the Loch Ness visual.

@lpbiesty with 'purple curly wurly' made us laugh and works on a nice insight.

@mikeselby85 with this version of the flag. Purely graphic. Nice!

@dognbonesjones with a very visual idea. The Only way is Scotland!

Cheers everyone. We are working on a big reward for our followers too. If a meeting we have planned goes well it will be interesting!

See you tomorrow!

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise a campaign to help cure porn addiction.

After watching the very interesting 'Porn on the Brain' TV show on channel 4 yesterday it felt like we should do our bit to raise awareness of the tissue...sorry issue*

We had lots of entries coming in and some great ideas.

However, the following entries beat off all the competition.

James from our own @BOC_ATM with 'XXX' fantastic visual.

Nick from our very own @BOC_ATM with 'Pawn Movies' nice play on words.

@chrismillar89 with 'Beat it' a cheeky line that catches the eye and has a fun double meaning. Light hearted look on a serious issue.

@_ghop_ with 'Porn. It's for wankers.' As blunt as you like. Absolutely true. Funny. Yet serious. Great ad.

@matthew__wyatt with 'Give it a rest' Lovely copy.

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Celebrate One Minute Briefs 1st Birthday

Really enjoyed looking through the entries to this brief. It was a proud moment to have turned one and been lucky enough to get such an amazing creative following in the process.

The entries to the brief reflected this and we thank you for all of your birthday wishes, whether you won or not.

But we always have winners and here are they are:

@thescampfactory with 2 great scamps. 'a little birdie' & '1 today' we love this style and the ideas are brilliant.

@katesteeth with 'here's a jolly good follow' Love the idea or recreating the song lyrics.

@writeygentleman with 'Missy Elliott may not want you' not everyone would get this but it made us laugh. Love it.

@dognbonesjones with 2 ideas. We loved 'immaculate conception' for it's double meaning and 'haven't you grown' for it's cheekiness but using a bit of truth too.

@robertgorton with 'little scamps' very cute idea!

Once again thanks for all of your support. Let's make Year 2 even better for everyone!

One Minute Briefs 1st Birthday:

One Minute Briefs was officially One year old on Twitter yesterday. So you can imagine our shock and horror to arrive at work without any OMB birthday cards!!

Therefore, we want today's brief to be to create a card/poster to celebrate a year of One Minute Briefs.

Of course, myself and James are willing to send pictures of ourselves in our birthday suits to the winners!

Looking forward to seeing the results.

We'd also like to thank you all for making this year a huge success and we appreciate your continued support. If you have any ideas for OMB then send us an e-mail and we will try to make it happen.

Thanks,
Nick and James

One Minute Brief WINNER:
Advertise Anything with Noel Edmonds

Recently, an interesting Twitter account has appeared called @TheNoelSolution

They crack every brief with Noel Edmonds and we thought it was hilarious so we thought it would be good if everyone could have a crack.

Some great entries. A lot of which came from the Noel Edmonds pro's.

The winner is @TheNoelSolution with 'Dill or no Dill' a hilarious line with a hilarious image and they have used it to advertise Burger King. Like the quirkiness of these. It is refreshing.

Well done to you both. You've won a work placement at Grey London, apparently.

One Minute Brief WINNER:
Advertise Clowns

From the entries we received for this one we noticed that a lot of people actually find clowns quite creepy. Interesting!

But the winner @alvo_muses focused on a much more positive angle. Loved the style, image and great line of 'it takes a genius to act a fool'

Really nice. We actually featured Gareth in our talk at the #Freshtival and ideas like these are proving us right in what we spoke about.

Thanks to everyone who entered.

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise Mannequins

Really interesting to see how people took the brief on yesterday. Some quality stuff. Although there were some naughty ones. Not easy to open an image of a blow up sex doll at work! Please label NSFW in future! haha.

Few copy based winners and one image based winner.

@alvo_muses with 'Always in Fashion' very true in both senses and a good selling point.

@dognbonesjones with 'Dress to Impress' turning the typical phrase into a call to action for mannequin customers. Nice.

@matthew__wyatt with 'the model employee' really intersting to think of the mannequin as an extra member of staff, which essentially they are! Great idea.

@robertgorton with 'the embodiment of fashion' a really nice line that makes them seem premium as well as having the double meaning.
