One Minute Brief WINNER:
Advertise Promax UK event

Last week we did a talk and all day workshop at Promax UK. An excellently run event. We were lucky enough to see Sir John Hegarty speak before our talk and we also had the legendary director Tony Kaye sat at our stand for 2 hours and he did a few One Minute Briefs before taking some selfies with us both. Crazy day! He loves the concept.

We included a number of you in our talk and a selection of our favourite OMBs. We have had comments from a few people and the organisers that they found OMB to be inspiring and we are in talks about some exciting collaborations as a result.

So, once again, thanks so much for your continued support of OMB and the excellent work that you submit. It really is getting noticed. Not just by us, but during Promax it was put in front of people in the world of TV and famous film directors from LA. It is worth getting involved. Spread the word. We aim to reward you all with many more prizes in the months to come and we will do our talk at the OMB event that we will be doing early next year.

The day before the event, we set a brief to advertise the event itself.

We featured two entries in our talk but this one was chosen overall as the winner as it captured everything we wanted to say.

@thescampfactory You have won yourself a free ticket to Promax Europe that is being held in London, UK in March 2014. An amazing prize. Big thank you to Promax for offering such a great prize and inviting us to take part in the event. And thanks to everyone who entered.

One Minute Brief WINNER:
Advertise Slippers

We've had a very strong number of entries recently. Keep it up everyone. The more the merrier. The more we can all learn each other and the better our ideas will become.

The brief to advertise slippers was no exception with a vast range of ideas with a lot of them being great concepts.

However, one really stood out today. A very simple scamp and line.

@AlexTheWebb with 'Stay-in fashion' Could be a brilliant campaign that could extend beyond slippers too. Love it.

Thanks to everyone who entered.

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise Toast

Seems like everyone likes toast! Amazing response to the brief. Thanks to all of you toast lovers.

Of course, we always have winners so here they are in no particular order:

@rupertdepaula with a simple CTA to use your loaf. A lot of people chuck theirs out so this make sense and is a clever line.

@lpbiesty with the nice visual of the toast popping out of the loaf.

@matthew__wyatt with 'serving the nation' great visual and strong line.

@hellonaomi_ with this nice link to Remembrance Day using the soldiers and 11/11.

@millydacosta with 'the best thing since sliced bread' Very simple but links brilliantly.

@carlybrooks with #totes Could be a very current fun campaign.

Absolutely amazing response today to a fantastic brief from a great collaboration with @LizzyNicholls88 Thanks to every single one of you for your entries. It has been one of the best OMB's yet!

We had lots of examples of people doing their own which were hilarious!! However, we feel the winners told the story of what Literal Scribbles is about perfectly.

Runners up were @alvo_muses and @millydacosta with their brilliant copy based entries. Special postcard style prints go to you two.

The overall winner uses a celebrity endorsement and turns around a very famous saying. Brilliant piece of thinking. Love it. Framed print and postcard style prints of her choice goes to @hellonaomi_

E-mail us your addresses etc and we will get prizes to you.

Thanks everybody on behalf of us and Lizzy.

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Advertise Femfresh

A fun Friday brief for a fantastic product. Lots of hilarious ideas and some serious ones too. A good mix which is what we like.

So this mean we have a mix of serious and fun winners too.

Thanks to all who got involved.

Our overall with a refreshing (literally) graphic design based entry is @stephenhunter21 with this flower graphic based on the product itself. Superb.

Our other winners in no particular order are:

@Joe_from_CP with 'a present from me to you, to me' great line for you to buy it someone as a gift. Although I think you would be given a slap with a wet fish if you did!

@SuperBezzie with this cheeky Magic Tree visual. Nice.

@sophie_gaf with a slightly changed 'Friends' reference. Light-hearted entry that would never run but we like controversial stuff.

@placey80 using a retro style using people's names to create an acceptably unacceptable ad. Love it.

@dambritton with the most straight to the point ad of the lot. No messing.

And last but least is these two cheeky bastards with this brilliant ad using One Minute Briefs. @robertgorton and @bshryane (although we did win one the next day ;))

One Minute Brief WINNER:
Advertise @BritBehaviour

We collaborated with this brilliant Twitter feed about typical British Behaviour as we thought it was hilarious and could relate to it.

There were a lot of fun entries including these entries by @sarahpughdesign @sharpstuffbits and @dognbonesjones which really captured the spirit of Brit Behaviour and really made us laugh. However, the overall winner with this very simple line which relates to the behaviour as well as the Twitter platform itself is @alvo_muses with 'Carry on Tweeting'.

One Minute Brief entries:
Advertise Literal Scribbles

An exciting collaboration with our talented friend Elizabeth Nicholls and her project that we think is hilarious with fantastic illustration.

Here is the project defined in a single sentence:

Literal Scribbles plays on common English phrases, quotes and sayings, taking them word for word to create ridiculous (and often sarcastic) situations.

Below is a logo to use in your ads. We have also included an example of one of the illustrations below but you can see them all here...http://www.literalscribbles.com

Make sure you include @lizzynicholls88 in your tweets.

Framed A4 illustration to be won along with special postcard style prints.

Good luck!

ABOUT THE EVENT

If you’re looking for creative inspiration then you’ve come to the right place. Over the two day conference we’ll be looking at British creativity – what is unique about it, how and why it’s been successful on a global stage, and what as an industry and creative individuals, we can do to develop, adapt and survive in a world that’s constantly changing.

We’re honoured to have Sir John Hegarty, Tony Kaye and One Minute Briefs, three legends of the adverting industry, sharing their fascinating insights. ;) We’re also looking outside our industry for inspiration, to film, music, design, art and fashion, with a host of sessions that will give you different ways of thinking and new perspectives. This conference is about celebrating creativity, helping us to be bolder and better at telling engaging stories that bring audiences, content and brands together.

It promises to be an inspiring, challenging and entertaining conference.

One Minute Brief WINNERS:

Slightly topical brief with it being November 5th! Hope you've all had a great evening!

Some really high quality winners. Some entries went into firework safety but we feel that the winners really advertise fireworks well.

In no particular order the winners are:

@la_acheson with 'paint your canvas' epic idea. Love the idea of the sky being your canvas.

@alvo_muses with 'children's delight' Great piece of copy.

@dognbonesjones with 'for display purposes only' Quality would be great for POS too.

@LarnerC with the neck brace visual. Brilliantly simple.

and a special mention for our youngest ever OMBLE Evie with this great etch-a-sketch piece at just 1 year old! @Placey80

Amazing stuff!

One Minute Brief WINNER:
Create a Thank You ad for NABS

Yesterday's brief was an excellent opportunity to work with the brilliant organisation of NABS. The brief was to create an ad to thank all the supporters of NABS in it's 100th year.

We had a fantastic response and are really pleased that the spirit of NABS came out in a lot of the work. NABS have been in touch with us to give us their winners but they are chuffed with the level of interaction and entries. Check them out here: http://www.nabs.org.uk/

We are hoping to work with NABS on lots of new projects in the future and hope you will all play an important role in them too.

Two ads really stood out to NABS so there is a bottle of champagne to give away to the winner and runner-up. The winner's work will also be used and credited as a full page press ad in Campaign magazine. Can't wait to see it!

The overall winner who's work will be features is @robertgorton with 'advertising's longest running campaign' a fantastic line that is bang on brief and really reflects the work NABS so as well as thanking their supporters.

The runner up is @jay_pegg with 'for the good and bad' a brilliant sentiment that was also really liked. Great visual along with the line. Bottle of champagne for you.

Please can you both e-mail us with your address to sort out prizes and next steps.

Thanks to everyone who got involved. You have all played a great part in spreading the word about NABS and the work they do. It really is appreciated.

Time

Creative Account
November 4, 2013

The following piece is a Guest Post by Adele Mitchinson.
Relates really well to our @OneMinuteBriefs concept.

Time.

The hour glass filled with sand slips through the pitt and ends on a pile of minutes past.

How many minutes today did you spend procrastinating? How many did you spend on idol thoughts? How many did you waste not thinking of anything at all?

I once heard a story, of which I cannot confirm its legitimate substance, however the idea made me think. Einstein was supposed to have one set of clothes, but multiple pairs. Same shirt, same trousers, same socks, same under crackers. The idea being that he needed to use all of his attention on thinking of great and profound things. So by eliminating the need to think about his clothes freed up a little bit more thinking time.

Now imagine for a moment that you could strip your day of every thought, useful and not so useful. Place it into a box and explore something else. Collate all the time you wasted. Could you have solved that brief that's driving you crazy? Complete another degree? Find the cure for world hunger?

I would like to conduct a small social experiment. Tomorrow morning when you wake try and make a record of all the time you could have used while you were waiting for a file to save, or watching the kettle boil or picking out those matching socks.

We all own the full 60 seconds in a minute, it's what we do with it that sets us apart.
