One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Manchester Twestival OMB Workshop
Last week we had a stand and workshop at the Manchester Twestival event. It was a great night with lots of industry talent and local artists exhibiting.
We were overwhelmed by the amount of response we received on the LIVE Twitter wall and the number of people around our stand was superb.
Due to this, we had lots of people having a go at One Minute Briefs and everyone seemed to have a good time. Our OMBLES were even taking over the stand for us as we chatted to people over a beer or 17.
The results were fantastic, some really shit ones, some really crazy ones, some really funny ones and some great ideas too!
Great to meet more people off Twitter and gave us a good taster for the OMB event we want to do in early 2014.
Our overall winner on the night was for the brief 'Mobile Hairdressing' and the idea was brutally simple. A mobile with hair. Eyecatching and straight to the point. Could be developed into a great ad. @louisa.craggs wins a bottle of champagne for a minute's work. Well done. Might be worth letting @CelinaKS have a glass too for her support!
We had an immense amount of entries and here are the ideas that we felt stood out.
@fayscho with 'slugs' I like the idea of real slugs on a face to advertise this eyebrow waxing.
@damnson with 'give peas a chance' a nice epic idea for a simple product. Peas.
@duncandibble with this comic book style story without an ending for drink aware. Very nice idea.
@emmascamell with an ideas based idea for glue-sticks. Great thought.
@alan_cripps Who says account men can't have good ideas? Nice copy idea for push up bras.
@OrchardTweets with 'Birds' for KFC. A bold claim that is just the product and made us laugh!
@mrowainthomas with 'Make a clean entry' to advertise doormats. Simple. Funny. Effective.
Thanks to every single person who entered.

As we were invited to take part in the Manchester Twestival this year we thought it would make a great brief that would allow us to feature everybody's work.
Lots were tweeted about and taken photos of at the event and shared which is great to see.
We have chosen one overall winner who receives the Paul Arden book and signed naked photos of us both.
The 2 runners-up will each receive signed naked photos.
Winner is @tomcdixon with 'The Socially United City' works on so many levels for the event as well as showing Manchester. Great work.
Runners up are @matthew__wyatt and @alvo_muses with these great lines that work brilliantly for what Twestival do.

One Minute Brief WINNERS:
Was good to see some of you actually sending us some selfies! It helps when we meet people at events. Sometimes people come up to us and expect us to know who they are from Twitter. If we haven't seen you we won't know! Might even set up a page devoted to OMBLES. What does everyone think?
We've got some great winners today.
@mrowainthomas with 'me meme' very simple use of copy. Eyecatching.
@alvo_muses with this simple CTA for best results. A very alvomusing entry!
@atAlexGoddard with 'Shoot yourself in the face' I've always wanted to write that on an ad but never had the chance. You beat me to it so you win!
@violetdarling with this very philosophical campaign for selfies. Great stuff.
@matthew__wyatt with the nice line 'me, myself and iphone' Nice style too.
@lpbiesty Not exactly an ad but we love this inception selfie. The cat looks pretty chilled on it too. Also this fantastic ambient idea using bathroom mirrors. This NEEDS to be made. Absolute piss-take but hilarious. Genius.
@PaperjamCreate with 'Touch Yourselfie' Nice and cheeky ad for physical photos from Polaroid.
Thanks to everyone involved!

So the latest word to enter the English Dictionary is 'Selfie'. Whether we like it or not, we can't ignore it. It has become part of society. We thought it would make a great subject to see what everyone makes of it and there was a brilliant number of entries today.

Advertise Slang
Fun subject to start the week with today. Lots of fun entries came through as a result and we have 4 winners.
@exmc2andrew with his nice take on Literal Scribbles to show how crazy slang can be at times.
@katesteeth with 'Safe Blud' Not exactly the most on brief in terms of advertising slang itself. However, one of the great things about OMB is that an idea that is shared can spark an idea in someone else. And we think that this could make a great spoof campaign to raise awareness of HIV etc in younger people.
@mrowainthomas with 'Village Idiom' Nice play on words. Simple but eye-catching.
@boc_atm with 'It is' Very simple. Silly. And got a few votes.
Thanks to all those involved.

Advertise 'I'm a Celebrity. Get me out of here'
Fun and current brief today with lots of funny entries. Eat the anus particularly made us laugh.
However, a lot of the entries were anti-advertising and others weren't quite up to the standard of previous OMB winners.
So, for the first time ever. Today we have no winners. Any my cat is very grumpy.
The standard of the OMBLES work is increasingly high and we think today showed a blip and we feel that it is important to get back to that. Therefore, holding back on a winner today, we are hoping will make you even more determined to create clever, subtle and effective work.
We have prizes at stake again tomorrow so let's get back up to that amazing OMB standard.
Much love.
