As some of you may know, we were recently chosen by Theo Paphitis as one of his #SBS winners, and on Friday, One Minute Briefs will be attending an event for all of the winners and meeting Theo himself. Being one of the winners has been a positive experience for us and today we have a brilliant collaboration with Ryman to spread the word about what #SBS can do for other small businesses and there are some great prizes up for grabs.

Info:
Small Business Sunday or #SBS, as it’s known on Twitter, was created by Theo Paphitis in October 2010.

Each week Theo encourages SME’s to tweet him (using @TheoPaphitis) a description of their businesses using hashtag #SBS. Only tweets made in the time slot between 5.00 PM and 7.30 PM each Sunday can be in with a chance of winning.

Theo then chooses his favourite six each week who are then re-tweeted the following Monday at 8pm.

Theo has over 650,000 followers on Twitter, so a simple retweet can provide a massive boost to the chosen lucky businesses.

The benefits range from increased Twitter followers, to positive media publicity and crucially for many, increased sales!

On the day people are apparently the unhappiest we thought we'd try and inject some positivity into the idea of a #blueMonday with this brief and the responses definitely did that. The two winners really transformed the idea of a Blue Monday.

Great brief to end the week with and really pleased with the response to this one. All of them really capture the spirit of OMB LIVE. It's not your average corporate creative event. Which is why we are hosting it in a cellar in Digbeth! It's all about networking, spontaneity, creativity, music and bringing together this brilliant online community of OMBLES. The last event was great and this one will be even better. Can't wait to see you all.

The first winner to receive an OMB T-shirt is @dissential taking the rap part of the brief and creating a brilliant representation in his own freestyle. I even forgive him for spelling my name wrong ;) I am hoping that he will be performing this rap on stage during the One Minute Talent Show. Get thinking of your talents people. Last year we had football skills, raps, impression and even a One Minute strip! Not naming names (Joe Brooks)

The second winner is @aga_nat with 'Ready for the Sequel?' and 'Tweet, meet, greet, repeat' This is brilliant copywriting that captures what it's all about.

@tobyjross with 'Oh My Briefs' Eye-catching and could be a poster campaign using different words.

@chrisod1993 with a collaborative ad with @boc_atm to show a glass and reflection to turn it into a sand timer. This could be a stunning visual.

@matthew__wyatt with 'Remeet' So simple but perfect for the second event and great meaning.

@_johnford loved the style of this campaign with different headlines relating to the event.

@creativebrummie with 'Tick Tick Tick BoOMB' Nice copy and scamp.

First of all, I'd like to say a huge thank you personally for getting involved in this brief. Means a lot that this creative community gets behind such great causes and help each other out. Sue, Tom and the family would also like to thank you for your efforts and donations today. They commented on how nice it had been to see such a response and the two winners they chose really capture everything in the brief perfectly.

I am devoting this brief to the great man, Craig Sellers, who was my football coach at my first ever football team Woodley Albion J.F.C. (I am stood next to Craig in the photo above)

He played a key part in me improving as a footballer at a young age which ended up with me playing for Manchester City along with his son Tom who I have been friends with for many years. I have remained in touch with Craig for all of these years and he has always been someone I could speak to so the news was a shock that upset me and I am sorry for Sue and the family's loss.

As today's brief is one that is very close to my heart, I'd really appreciate you all getting involved for such a great cause.

Craig Sellers

Born: 03/05/1964 - Passed away: 12/01/2015

Craig was a true inspiration to many people and a kind and loving man. He was the best daddy and role model to four fantastic children. He was Sues best friend and soul mate. Craigs zest for life will continue to live in all of them.

We have set up this tribute fund in his memory and as a legacy of that inspirational zest for life. Any money donated in Craigs memory will go directly to the tribute fund set up at Seashell Trust. This fund will be used to run inclusive sports projects and activities for children with very complex needs.

Seashell cares for children with complex physical, medical and learning disabilities and ensure these children fulfil their potential. Like Craig they are passionate about sport and its power to give every child the chance to take part in something. They enable 100s of children to enjoy inclusive sport. Our tribute fund will mean more children can take part in camps and clubs through the year. We know Craig would be so proud to have made this possible and are proud that this will be his legacy

About One Minute Briefs:

One Minute Briefs utilises Twitter as our main platform to share fantastic and fun ideas that are produced from constant engagement and user generated content. This is created and shared virally by followers from the creative industry and us.

This way of thinking can benefit the creative industry whilst also being great fun as it forces you to rely on your creative instinct. The beauty of One Minute Briefs is that the ideas that come out of them can be really really shit or really really good. But you’ve only spent one minute on it so it’s all good whatever happens. OMB recently won 5 Fresh Awards, got to the final 30 out of 1000 businesses in the Pitch UK, were finalists in the Great British Entrepreneur awards and have just been chosen by Theo Paphitis as one of his #SBS business winners. This all helps to build content that feeds back into creating an engaging and interactive Twitter feed. Having a physical and a social online presence makes us very approachable and we have met a lot of our followers as a result, hosted events and made a lot of real friends from it.
