Brief:

For today's OMB brief we're looking for you to create posters using lyrics from any Christmas song.
Tweak them as you wish to communicate the #MerryCritmas initiative and Father Critmas' naughty but nice personality.

About the Campaign:

Merry Critmas is a campaign encouraging professional creatives in the advertising and marketing fields to give the gift of a festive portfolio review, or "book crit".

For undiscovered talent trying to break into advertising, it’s a foot in the door.

For established creatives, it’s a nice way of giving something back.

Just half an hour can make a real difference.

And you never know who you might discover...

How it works:

Whether you are an aspiring creative team, a hybrid solo, or a conceptual designer, Merry Critmas is for everyone. That means that regardless of whether you went to university or ad school, all are equally welcome to take part and get involved.

All you have to do is select a side on our homepage.

Or if you're feeling brave, send your portfolio direct to Father Critmas.

Once we have your details, Father Critmas and his elves will start to match our fresh talent with superstar pros who have signed up to Merry Critmas 2018.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Campaign to promote #AdventAid to encourage people to donate advent calendars to food banks as a small addition to their weekly shop. @UnlovableSteve @JustinMoorhouse

One Minute Brief of the Day:
Campaign to promote #AdventAid to encourage people to donate advent calendars to food banks as a small addition to their weekly shop. @UnloveableSteve @JustinMoorhouse

Today we've got a brilliant brief for a great cause. Started by @JustinMoorhouse and @UnloveableSteve, the campaign began on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/justin.x.moorhouse/posts/10205013419917022 and is now on Twitter with it's own hashtag and website. And, we're hoping for the OMBLES to help spread the message and festive joy even further.

Prize: Signed copy of one of Steve's books. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Steve-Berry/e/B00AWPQBYM/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1?qid=1542632236&sr=8-1

About: Since 2014, inspired by a post on social media by comedian and broadcaster Justin Moorhouse, people have been buying advent calendars and donating them to local food banks.

The reasoning behind this is that, at a very expensive and stressful time of year, the last thing parents who have to go to food banks will be doing is buying treats for their kids.

Now, we don't care what your politics are but we're pretty certain everyone would agree that people who are using food banks would rather they weren't.

Most, if not all, would also agree that the children of adults who are using food banks aren't to blame for their parents' predicament.

Imagine being a kid this Christmas, knowing times are hard and money is tight at your house. It's hard for them and it's hard for mums and dads.

So please can you buy an extra advent calendar when you next do your weekly shop? If you can afford to buy in bulk, please do, but one is a start.

It's a little thing we can do to put a smile on a kid's face (and maybe mum's or dad's too).

Let's aim that every kid has an advent calendar this year.

If your local supermarket doesn't have a food bank collection box already, you can donate to the Trussell Trust.

Find your local one here: https://www.trusselltrust.org/

One Minute Brief of the Day: Advertise #TeamHighSheriff & their upcoming @TeamHighSheriff 500 Event

One Minute Brief of the Day:
Advertise #TeamHighSheriff & their upcoming @TeamHighSheriff 500 Event

Today we've got a great brief that's a personal one to me as I was recently announced as an ambassador to the High Sheriff of Manchester alongside the likes of Michael Carrick and Lawrence Jones. So I'm hoping the OMBLES can help me promote Team High Sheriff itself as well as our next event that I will also be speaking at.

Remember to include @OneMinuteBriefs @TeamHighSheriff with the hashtag #TeamHighSheriff and please include the link in tweets: eventbrite.co.uk/e/team-high-sheriff-500-tickets-50163904589

Prize:
The winner will receive a brilliant goody bag kindly donated by the team at @UKFast

About Team High Sheriff:

A new High Sheriff is appointed by the Queen each year. Officially, the High Sheriff is the Queens Judicial representative in the County, this means they uphold the royal family, judiciary, emergency services, local authorities and all organised faith groups in the County. The role can be traced back 1,000 years with High sheriffs being mentioned in the Magna Carta.

“Our aim is to work in partnership with young people and have conversations about what matters to them: Such as looking after their physical health and mental well-being, concerns about employment, housing, social inclusion, crime reduction, community cohesion, opportunities to access education and vocational training.”
- Robina Shah - High Sheriff of Manchester

About the The Team High Sheriff Event:
Our event is focussed on health and well-being and reflects the Team High Sheriff principle that “young people matter”.

Our aim is to work in partnership with young people aged 16 -24 years old and have conversations about what matters to them: from looking after their physical health and mental well-being, to concerns about employment, housing, social inclusion, crime reduction and community cohesion, to opportunities to access education and vocational training.

Team High Sheriff Ambassadors will facilitate conversation forums and host talks to up-skill our young people in areas such as leadership, team building, communication and social skills. We will have a wealth of talent speaking at the event that includes Daniel Rimes, Nick Entwistle and Michael Carrick.

We are also inviting our ambassadors to attend to ensure that what young people learn in our conversation forums is translated in to meaningful practice through work-based placements, apprenticeship schemes or voluntary work experience.

One Minute Brief of the Day:
Create an ad to encourage local businesses, authorities and communities to support charity @AddingtonSG’s ambition to create an incredible outdoor Sensory Garden for Addington Special School's pupils.

Brief:

Today's brief is running in partnership with @AddingtonSG and @Gasp_4

Tweet your designs to @OneMinuteBriefs with the hashtag #SensoryGarden, @AddingtonSG and link to the JustGiving fundraising page: www.justgiving.com/campaign/addington. Feel free to base your idea on and tag any local businesses, press, authorities or communities to encourage them to participate and help the garden grow.

Prize:

@Gasp_4 has donated a prize of £100 for the winning ad, and £100 for the charity alongside a full day of agency resource as part of their Give Back Day. The winning ad will also be submitted to local press with accompanying press release to further drive awareness and participation.

About Addington School and Addington Association:

Based in Woodley, Reading, the Addington School is an outstanding environment for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. All our pupils have a learning difficulty with almost half also having Autism.

The Addington School Association is a registered charity (registration number 1088765), and a very small group of dedicated parents and teaching staff who raise funds for much needed extra facilities at the school that are not provided by the Local Authority. Our latest ambitious plan is a Sensory Garden which we hope to have raised funds for the first phase by 2020.

The garden will help us grow the physical, social and emotional skills of our pupils by transforming our outside space. Zones will create stimulating challenges that support learning guidelines and the National Curriculum by encouraging our pupils to develop physical, social and emotional skills through exploration and interaction.

In order to bring this to life, we're appealing to the immediate community, home to many of the world's big businesses to support us in any way they can, via donations, fund-raising events, sponsorship and/or volunteering.

Good luck and THANK YOU to everyone who participates and helps realise our dream of growing such an important Sensory Garden for the children and young people we care for so much.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Campaign to promote @Art_Brut_'s new album: Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out! with @ILoveAlcopop #WhamBangPow

One Minute Brief of the Day:
Campaign to promote @Art_Brut_'s new album: Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out!
with @ILoveAlcopop #WhamBangPow

Today we've got a very different brief with some brilliant prizes. Really looking forward to seeing the results of this one!

It's been a while, but Art Brut are back with a blazing new album, Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out! - and Alcopop! Records are keen to see what OMB can do to build some fun, creative content to be used at the invite-only pre-album launch at Signature Brew's new Taproom on 8th November, which will be packed with music and media people.

Brief: We want you to listen to the album's opening single (of the same name) and create posters inspired by the record. We've added some info below to help too.

Please tweet to @ilovealcopop @art_brut_ and @OneMinuteBriefs with the hashtag #WhamBangPow

Prizes:
We'll give a copy of the album (on CD or vinyl) to every piece of art we like and use, and a £50 Alcopop! Records voucher + £50 cash for the band's favourite.

More info:

Alcopop! Records are pleased to announce they have signed Berlin-based post-punk art rock band Art Brut, who will play a special return headline show on 7th November in London at Boston Music Room.

Here to remind us of our insatiable, adolescent appetite for music, Art Brut are back together. What started as a break-up album and turned into an ‘in-love record’, Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out! is a collection of post-punk, poppy bangers that recall the distinctive sound that burst out of the Berlin-based band back in 2005. It’s been seven years since the group’s last LP and sees Argos’ self-referential, sincere narrative shape into poignant reflections of encompassing a youthful heart in a world that perpetually forces us to grow up.

Argos was careful to “live a life” before attempting a new album. “I moved to Berlin, I nearly died with Peritonitis. I was in hospital for a bit. I had a son, I had a relationship that broke up. I wrote a comic, a memoir, a musical and had a one man show,” he says. “I don't want to be that band who writes the sort of songs like "I don't like touring, touring is really boring". I think we needed a rest so some stuff could happen to me, to fill me up.”

Produced by award-winning folk musician Jim Moray, Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out! is Art Brut at their pop band best. Argos recorded his vocals in one or two takes, channeling the sporadic nature of his live performances while hand claps and ad-libbed jokes and howls produce a raw and authentic work. Morphing almost any mundane experience into a hilariously candid anecdote – whether it’s watching hipsters eat falafel on ‘Good Morning Berlin’, planning a better diet after a health scare on ‘Hospital!’ or dodging a train ticket inspector on ‘Schwarzfahrer’– Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out! is testament to the frontman’s unconventional approach to finding inspiration in just about anything.

“It’s not a game over, I got an extra life, I was born again, in a pure white light,” Argos trills on album opener, ‘Hooray!’, sparking an exuberant return to an industry where, if we’re honest, Art Brut never really fit in. On Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out!, Art Brut are creating anthems for outcasts.

With the departure of Jasper Future and Mikey Breyer, Art Brut are now made up of founding members Argos, Ian Catskilkin and Freddy Feedback while Toby Macfarlaine joins on guitar and Charlie Layton joins on drums. “I've known Charlie forever,” Argos explains. “He's also the drummer for The Wedding Present but we always wanted to be in a band together since we were kids. Now it's been about 25 years of knowing each other, he's finally in our group. Toby plays bass for Graham Coxon normally, he's in the band cos he’s an amazing guitar player and  I love him. Ian found him and I looked at his twitter feed to see what he was about and he had posted 'A Day in the Life of Vivian Stanshall" from the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah band. I was like "yeah perfect! he's in!’’

Argos describes Art Brut as a democracy, with the new line-up adding new ideas to the pot. “Toby and Charlie both rock the fuck out which is what I like,” he adds. “Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out! is a bit more back to basics Art Brut. It's sort of the record I was trying to make after the first record and we didn't quite succeed. I think I'm more confident now and I know what I want. Not being mean about our other records but it's a poppy punk record which is what I wanted to do. I think speaking is a more honest way of getting what I want across. And I can't sing too.”

While he wrestles with the realisation that Art Brut are now, as he describes, a “heritage band”, Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out! sees the band producing their most accomplished and innovative work to date. “I think it's because we love it,” Argos says of the band’s longevity in the face of an ever-changing scene. “I've always been quite gregarious about being in a band. I thought it would fix everything. I can't imagine ever leaving Art Brut. It's quite addicting really, we're a fun band when we play live. There's a nice mix of that and heart, we're not ironic or anything. I think it's fun to be in Art Brut. Maybe that's why we can't stop?”

Here's the album sleeve by Jim Avignon and single sleeve by @rhirhilee84 for inspiration

#WorldHealthDayEveryDay

BeFunky-collage.jpg

Yesterday was #WorldMentalHealthDay. But what is today?

We must keep talking and sharing stories to remove the stigma attached to mental health issues. If you have a broken leg, you'd tell someone and have it fixed. So why do so many of us keep a broken mind to ourselves?

Thats why I ran a One Minute Brief campaign to coincide with #WMHD2018 and encourage people to speak to others about their mental health. Some of the content created was extremely powerful and far-reaching but, most importantly, it began to spark conversation and positivity online. The OMB community is the most inclusive, diverse and supportive group of people I've seen on social media and mental well-being is right at the heart of that. We exist to inspire, build each other's confidence, create real-life friendships whilst helping each other improve creatively and personally. It's a level playing field whether you're a Creative Director or a junior...or not even in the creative industry. No one is hear to out-do each other or put others down. We're here to help each other be successful. And success is different to different people. To some, success is getting out of bed in the morning.

As well as the conversation happening online, some members of the OMB Board began to speak up in our group chat about their own battles with mental health. I was quite taken aback as I had no idea of their struggles.

The conversation started with someone in the group simply asking how everyone's day had been...and in what must have been difficult and differing from the auto-pilot "Ok...you?" this was the first response.

"Mine wasn’t so good. Been off work for 5 weeks with anxiety.. (inspired by today’s OMB’s to speak up) hope everyone else is good!?"

Suddenly every single person replied saying that they are here to talk whenever needed. On top of that, the others began to share their own stories. Proving not all is as it seems are the comments from the guys below:

"I’ll give my story of dealing with anxiety (for some reason I find it harder to write about then talk about. Face to face I’ll tell you no problem but put it In writing I’m shaking like a shitting dog, it’s taken me all morning to try and write) but a couple of years ago I think I let my anxiety get the better of me. My job was changing, my friendship group was changing and even the fucking economy was changing. So I just felt out of control, so I panicked and began changing what I could control. A cocktail of denial, panic attacks and an obsession with food and the gym. I nearly gave up the creative career because I felt at a dead end. I eventually pulled through and saw a councillor, and it still wasn’t for me but the admission that I had an issue allowed me to work with it. Sure there are times it does creep back in having to a supportive network and platforms like OMB with gives you the confidence boast, supportive community reminder that you a fucking awesome at what you do!"

"Everyone seems to feel that people in the creative industries are always happy, constantly creative etc and it’s not the case."

"In the spirit of openness...I've actually been on anti-anxiety/ antidepressants for one month now..."

"No drugs but have had therapy for issues. I think being reflective and sharing is a big step to helping a situation. I've had massive anxiety episodes. Feel like a fraud sometimes but, for the 100th time, OMB helps chip away at it and let some light in."

"I had an anxiety 'episode' watching Bake Off the other night...fecking Bake off...who even does that? (It wasn't related to Bake Off in any way, just shows how your sub-conscious can blindside you out of nowhere though)"

"Hi, I've just been catching up with some of the comments on here and feel inspired by everyone being so open about their struggles. I thought I'd share my story too for anyone who wants to read it! I did graphic design at college and uni quite a few years ago now... I really struggled in my last year. Looking back at it now, I know I was struggling with depression. i shut myself a way a little, especially from the people I was most closest to. I just had an overwhelming feeling that I wasn't good enough and I'm sad to say I lost my love for being creative. I have always compared myself to other people, which I'm trying to be better at. When I finished uni, I took some time off from doing creative things. I just didn't know what I wanted to do in my life but knew I had to try and figure it out. I did some work experience at Media City on my day off from my job at the time, and then ended up taking a job. After a couple of different roles I have found my feet in the Communications team, doing some design work, website, and editing... It's a great team to be in and I love that I get chance to do some creative stuff again. Since being introduced to One Minute Briefs, I have found the love and support of this amazing community. And I've got my confidence back a little too. Thank you to you all. I'm always here for anyone who ever needs to talk about how they feel."

Wow.

Suddenly we have found out so much about each other that we had never thought before. This can change everything. Now all of us know we can talk to each other when the going gets tough and we've also learnt things that will allow us to be more sensitive to one another during conversation and moving forwards.

Of course, I had to share my own thoughts on mental health and the fact that I suffer from anxiety and depression at times. I didn't go in to much detail at the time. Instead, deciding to write this piece because I feel it's important to share experiences to help others who may feel they are alone in their thinking.

I have talked at a couple of mental health and well-being events in the last year and I have skimmed the surface in how I am affected by it but I am becoming more comfortable with talking about it the more I hear other stories. I was shocked to hear emotive stories from Chris Bird, Naomi Timperley and Dominic McGregor who are all very successful entrepreneurs. They discussed life events, personal stories and battles with depression. How could this be?! All I ever see of them is winning award after award, speaking at loads of events, winning business and smiles on their faces. Yet the stories they told were what was behind all that. A complete eye-opener for me that has inspired me to talk more on the subject.

I am very lucky to be able to attend events, do talks to tell my story and have won a few awards along the way. But all of the stuff shared online is the positive stuff. What isn't seen is the nervousness about doing such talks, the terrifying prospect I face when networking with people I don't know due to anxiety. Recently I didn't attend an important event I absolutely should have been at. I panicked about having to meet people. This will seem strange to people who have seen me meet so many people over the past year but it's true.

To compound this, I do a job where I create public-facing work. Once that work is out there in the world, it's open to scrutiny and, in some cases, negativity. One film I made, which went viral and helped raise a huge amount for a little girl with cancer, received some negative comments online. Me being me, didn't see the thousands of amazing supportive comments and focussed on the bad ones... even trying to reply to them personally. But as a creative, it's important we learn to understand that not everyone will like what you do.

And that's ok.

I never realised that until recently. It's the same with One Minute Briefs. It's received negativity a few times due to the way it works and how people can post to it publicly. Certain people don't like it and some even think it's an insult to the craft of the creative industry by trying to solve briefs quickly. What these people fail to realise is that I am a Creative Director too and this is just a tool for starting ideas off. And it's been proven to work time and time again including being the foundation of the NHS Xmas Number 1 campaign. At times, I've wasted time trying to persuade people what OMB is all about and it can be very hurtful to see negative comments about something that you put so much time in to to help others. However, recently I've learnt to embrace that some people will love it and some will hate it. With that though, comes a whole new problem when I'm attending events and doing talks. Some of the people who don't believe in what I'm doing will be in the audiences which makes you feel even more on edge. Whereas, after giving it a lot of thought, now I understand that I'm doing it for the people who want to be part of something great and decided against throwing in the towel on One Minute Briefs as a result of the overwhelming messages of support I have received.

Those who were at the #OMBLIVEFIVE event would have seen the support and love everyone had for each other. None more so than Ze Anwar. He won an award for OMBLES' OMBLE of the Year and, as part of his prize, we helped organise a paid placement at Kindred Agency for him. This was something we really pushed to make happen as Ze had been out of work for the best part of 10 years and even attempted to take his own life after ongoing bouts of depression. Yet this guy has extreme talent. He's now in the 3rd week of a two-week placement. Not bad! I'll always remember what his wife said to me a year ago. "You saved Zed's life and you saved our family." For me, that makes all of the hard work and all of the struggles worthwhile. I think it's important to help yourself by helping others.

Ze and all the OMBLES gave me something back when I needed it most 3 years ago after my heart attack aged 26. They started a #GetWellSoonNick brief which ran itself on Twitter whilst I was in my hospital bed contemplating what the future would hold. http://creative-account.blogspot.com/2015/05/what-it-feels-like-tohave-heart-attack.html Since then, I have tried to turn being at the lowest of the low and being too scared to even stand up at first into a positive where I will go out there and do what it takes to achieve great things. However, there's one thing that stops me doing all of the things I want to do.

Me.

When you have something like a heart attack at the back of your mind at all times, it does hold you back. It can cause you to feel down, anxious in public spaces at the mere hint of pain and this can be severely de-motivating. Knowing what you could achieve if you applied yourself fully but being unable to do it can be the most depressing thing in the world even when on the outside you appear to be achieving a lot. My personality is non-stop busy but sometimes I feel I'm not achieving anything at all. This is a blessing and a curse as it means I push for great work and always strive for better but I struggle to settle and be happy with what I've got right here and now within both my career and personal life.

But you know what... I'm trying. And that's all that matters.

So next time you feel down, talk to someone. What's the best that could happen?

Let's make it #WorldMentalHealthDay. Every day.

One Minute Brief of the Day:
Create posters to help raise awareness of Hodgkin's Lymphoma and give a #TreatForTyler who last week rang the bell after his tough battle and received the news he was cancer-free.

To celebrate this great news we want to raise money on a treat for Tyler. Please donate here https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/taylor-jacques? #Cancerfree #treatfortyler #NHS
We are actually 99% towards our target already but let's smash through that and really give him a holiday to remember!!!

10 year old Tyler was diagnosed with Cancer called Hodgkins Lymphoma. It is a type of cancer that effects your lymph nodes which are cells that fight infections and disease, and they become bigger when they are fighting infection.

He went though a period of bullying at school because he had lost his hair and eyebrows, and his mum Tracy had to take him out of school because of the bullying.
He started his chemo this summer of 2018. A sweet girl called Taylor, who is a family friend has decided to set up this JustGiving page for Tyler to raise money for him to go on holiday, or a trip to a destination after he finished his chemotherapy treatment in 4 months time.

Tyler has rarely ever been on holiday so for him this would be such a big and wonderful treat. So it would mean a lot to not only him but his family as well if anyone could make some kind of donation, every little penny counts. Please take a minute out of your day to do this, it would mean the world.

*Please try to include the link of the donation page on all submissions* https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/taylor-jacques?utm_id=107&utm_term=drzkP2dAx

Andy Smith and Aron Priest set up Solopress in 1999 after realising there was a gap in the UK market for a printer that offered fast turnaround times and a cost-effective, full colour service.

Both Aron and Andy had 10 years of print experience behind them and a great knowledge of the industry. Thanks to Andy’s management skills and Aron’s drive, Solopress quickly became a success. Aron and Andy are the joint CEOs of Solopress, and together they continue to push Solopress forward.

The Team That Made Us

Solopress employs over 270 hand-picked individuals who work together to help the 100,000 customers we currently supply. They bring knowledge, experience, friendship and laughter to our growing company.

With the help of our great team, Solopress has grown year-on-year and won seven prestigious awards, including 'Business of the Year' and 'Business to Business of the Year'.

Where We're Going

At Solopress, we strongly believe that the way we treat and view the environment impacts heavily on the way we live and work. Therefore, we feel it is important that everyone has the opportunity to share in the responsibility of sustaining our environment.

About Chasing the Stigma and the Hub of Hope:

Chasing the Stigma is a national mental health charity (charity number 1170757) set up by Liverpool born stand-up comedian and writer, Jake Mills following his own battle with depression and suicide attempt almost 5 years ago.

The charity aims to normalise and humanise mental health, after all, there is nothing more normal than something everyone in the world has.

Everybody in the world has mental health. Yet the fear of being judged is preventing many people from talking about it. Chasing the Stigma want to help remove that fear and unnecessary stigma, by using first-hand experiences to say ‘I have suffered. I got through it and you can too’. You are never alone.

Chasing the Stigma created the Hub of Hope, a first of its kind, national mental health database which brings together organisations and charities, large and small, who offer mental health advice and support, together in one place.

The Hub of Hope, which is free downloadable app, as well as being online at hubofhope.co.uk uses your devices location to find mental health support near you, wherever you are in the country – think of it as the Just Eat of the mental health world.

It is a first of its kind database, making help as easy as possible to find and reaffirming the message, ‘you are never alone’.

Good luck, we hope you can help us spread a very important message across the world with today's brief.

Thank you.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create posters to inspire the next generation of construction workers to address the skills shortage and make the sector more diverse for #ConstructionCareersWeek

One Minute Brief of the Day:
Create posters to inspire the next generation of construction workers to address the skills shortage and make the sector more diverse for #ConstructionCareersWeek

Today we've got a great brief to help address an important cause for #ConstructionCareersWeek along with great prizes. Looking forward to seeing how the OMBLES tackle this one! Remember to tweet @oneminutebriefs and @BESSprogramme with the hashtag.

Prizes:
- Bottle of champagne to the winner
- Your work featured on the Construction Careers website & press publications.

About:

Construction Careers Week is coming to Manchester, Birmingham and London at the end of September and early October. Organised by Built Environment Skills in Schools, the aim of the initiative is to help reduce the skills shortage by informing and inspiring young people, with the help of leading businesses, so they have a better understanding of their built environment, and the varied careers contained within it.

We want to:

·    - Break down barriers and remove any stereotypes around what a career in construction is like to make the sector more diverse and inclusive
·    - Improve the reputation and image of construction
·    - Show how varied and exciting the careers of the future are – from drone operators to working on projects such as Hyperloop One

The skills shortage in the construction industry is a major issue, with the Chartered Institute of Building reporting the industry needs 157,000 new recruits by 2021 to keep up with demand. There is a real danger that much needed development and construction around the country will grind to a halt if we don’t address the skills shortage.

Three industry events – Inspire Summit: Women in UK Construction, Engineering & Housing, UK Construction Week, and London Build – have teamed up with Construction Careers Week, offering free places to students and apprentices to support the initiative. More businesses are needed to sign up to the scheme to engage with students, schools and colleges.

Introducing a unique machine with endless possibilities. The new JCB Teleskid is the first skid steer with a telescopic boom, making it the most versatile machine you’ve ever seen. UNLIMITED VERSATILITY

The new JCB Teleskid is the only skid steer with a vertical reach of over four metres and a forward reach of over two metres, allowing it to go places and do things others can’t. Now for the first time you can easily and quickly load lorries without a ramp and load over kerbs and other obstructions with a skid steer loader. Another first means you can now reach approximately 1 metre below the ground, enabling you to rip out trees and roots.

At full extension, the JCB Teleskid has a rated operating capacity of 611kg; this enables heavy items to be placed without damaging the ground. Additionally, a standard hydraulic flow rate of 90 l/pm allows you to operate attachments when fully extended whilst 125lpm high flow couplers allow safe operation of high flow attachments when the boom is fully retracted. An SAE/ISO standard quick hitch lets you utilise any skid steer attachment.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create posters to encourage people to have a conversation about #OrganDonation with their families. #OrganDonationWeek #WordsSaveLives

One Minute Brief of the Day:
Create posters to encourage people to have a conversation about #OrganDonation with their families.
Brief ran for @NHSOrganDonor #OrganDonationWeek #WordsSaveLives

Remember to mention @OneMinuteBriefs and @NHSOrganDonor with the hashtags #OrganDonationWeek and #WordsSaveLives in your tweets.

About:

This week is Organ Donation Week, which is all about raising awareness of the life-saving power of organ donation and encouraging families to discuss the topic.

There’s lots of things you wouldn’t tell your family; some topics are definitely off limits for dinner table chat! Organ donation shouldn’t be one of them. It isn’t always easy, and can be difficult to bring up, but a few words now could save someone’s life one day. In fact, one organ donor can save or transform up to 9 lives.

If families know their loved one wanted to be an organ donor, they are much more likely to say ‘yes’ to donation going ahead. Fewer than half of families agree to donation if they are unaware of their loved one’s decision. Over 90% agree when the decision to be an organ donor is known.

The theme of the week is ‘Words Save Lives’. Eight in ten people would consider donating some or all of their organs. But only a third of adults in England have told their partner or close family.

Can you inspire more families to have that all-important chat about organ donation?

One Minute Brief of the Day:
Campaign to #BanTheBed with @MelanomaUK #UKSunbedBan

Today we have another great brief for a good cause with our friends at leading skin cancer charity, Melanoma UK who want to follow the lead of Australia and ban the sunbed. Looking forward to see some amazing ideas coming through!!

Remember to tweet @OneMinuteBriefs & @MelanomaUK with the hashtag #BanTheBed. Don't forget to sign the sunbed ban petition too at https://goo.gl/sGk4eG

Prize for the winner: £100 Amazon vouchers!!!

About:
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, kills 6 people every day.

It has long been considered that use of sunbeds can be a contributory factor in developing melanoma. The NHS, Cancer Research and Macmillan, all give the same advice - ‘do not use sunbeds’.

The World Health Organisation reports that it is estimated that sunbed use is responsible for over 450,000 skin cancer cases and more than 10,000 melanomas in the United States, Europe and Australia.

If melanoma spreads through the body, it is notoriously difficult to treat, and the treatments used are expensive.

Treatment of these cancers costs the NHS over £400m every year.

We want to follow the lead of Australia and ban the sunbed!!

How we can choose, design and creative ideas that will better serve us and the planet? What can we do to choose better more ethical brands when buying food/products/fashion? How can we change to new positive behaviours? Circular economic models, less waste, biodegradable materials and have more fun.

About:
The campaign is in support of Creative Conscience and a need to change peoples perceptions around how we ‘consume’ ie: buy stuff and that there is a better way and better choices.
