PAPYRUS HOPELINE 24-7: BECAUSE SUICIDAL THOUGHTS DON’T WAIT.

BRIEF:

Create a film/social campaign encouraging people to donate to the Papyrus Hopeline 24/7 Emergency Appeal and raise awareness of young suicide.

THE IDEA:

We worked with several volunteers to dramatise the reality that young people would face if they didn’t receive the support they need, when they need it the most.

Suicidal thoughts don’t wait but we showed the silence and automated messages that young people that reach out would be met with if the Hopeline could no longer offer a 24 hour service.

ASSETS:

We created four short films in landscape and portrait formats to be shared on all social platforms.

Amplifying the campaign through a One Minute Briefs campaign and reached out to radio stations and local press.

Working with our Out-Of-Home media contacts, we were able to roll out a national billboard campaign, featuring stills from the films, to spread the important message far and wide. We also created social media graphics for additional content.

INTEREST:

  • The Emergency Appeal has, so far, raised £381,018.

  • The campaign was picked up by the press and radio stations including the BBC & Unity.

  • 5 million impressions via @OneMinuteBriefs & film campaign.
